This album was inspired by the commercial work Effacer does in audio mastering. Effacer determined that different noise reduction processes and audio restoration tools usually used to remove clicks/noises from tracks could be used to exaggerate different effects in music. He started taking a reverbed sound, then used the dry version of that same sound, sans reverb, as the noise print for a new noise reduction algorithm. Thus, by removing the source sound, this process would leave behind a ghostly sound (meta-reverb). Inspired by this new discovery, Effacer developed a formula to create more sounds and textures: (source sound + effect) - (source sound) = artifact of effect.

Putting these sounds together into tracks, add several years, and you get Music for Noise Reduction.
